Baptism of Adults The Catholic Center offers Inquiry sessions year-round for those who are curious about Catholicism and those who are interested in becoming Catholic. R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), classes begin each year in September, as soon as the Fall Semeste begins. Candidates are baptized, confirmed and receive Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. Baptized Christians from other churches may also attend these sessions; those who wish to make a profession of faith, do so at Easter. You may register by email, or call 988-3727 for more information.
Baptism of Infants The Catholic Center can provide instructions for parents, and baptism of infants, for students, faculty and staff of U.S.F. Infant baptisms are performed at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Liturgy. Parents must be registered, practicing members of the Catholic Student Center community. Diocesan policy requires non-registered Catholics to be registered and attending Sunday Liturgy on a weekly basis for at least six months prior to requesting infant baptism. Non-practicing Catholics will be asked to attend Catechumenate classes for the year in advance of the baptism. Please contact the Chaplain's Office to schedule a time for the parents' class and the baptism.
